Emergency money loans are needed by thousands of Americans who are living off of emergency unemployment benefits because of job loss during the recession. Extending benefits has been a huge debate since employers aren’t hiring like the government would like them to be right now. Florida’s Agency for Workforce Innovation is trying to give at least 100,000 people who have gone a “long term” without a job some extra benefits through www.fluidnow.com. Many people had their benefits began again after they had expired, but now seems like like fluid now is not so fluid for numerous that apply.
FluidNow can’t go fast enough
According to one of Florida’s long-term unemployed, calling the fluidnow help line at 800-204-2418 results in hours of connection tries, only to be greeted eventually be a pre-recorded “call back later” message. An AWI representative answered the phone after hours of trying just to inform the unemployed individual that there was no information on whether or not an extension of benefits could be received. There was just a little bit of a response when AWI Director Cynthia Lorenzo explained the U.S. Department of Labor used to send guidance to the company, but those who qualified will be receiving the payments they need. When that guidance would come – two weeks, as Lorenzo suggested, or some other interminable governmental interval – was uncertain.
Getting better with the EUC Fix
Numerous unemployed individuals are looking at getting loans or getting a part time job to help with their money troubles. However, these often won’t pay all the bills. Plus, there’s fear the benefits already being received would shrink upon signing up for part-time work. The Emergency Unemployment Compensation Fix might be able to help. Michigan’s MLive.com explained that this was part of the extension that Congress did send out about emergency unemployed benefits. Apparently this is designed to “remove the disincentive for people who take part-time jobs when collecting benefits.” Struggling citizens would not have to fear having their benefits reduced in their second year of benefits, reports the Michigan news portal.
EUC Fix can’t help anybody from before it was applied
If your benefits ended before July 22, 2010, you can’t qualify for the EUC Fix, reports the National Unemployment Law Project. If you aren’t in that window of opportunity, you won’t get any extra benefits. Discover more information about the EUC Fix at the National Employment Law Project website.
